Sissy Bar Interchangeability

This post was updated on .
Newbie question but here goes:

I want to replace my stock grab bar with a padded sissybar, will all CB750 bars fit my 1981 CB750K?

I have found a few from early to late '70 SOHC CB750s

I would be very doubtful the early 70s bars will fit. You would want to keep your search between 79 - 83 I think.

Appreciate it!
I didn't think the older ones would fit either.
Re-Run here's another question, I am process of removing the saddlebags (it's a wiring snakepit)
I have the OEM rear turn signals, should they also light up as running lights like the fron turn sginals?

I'm not Re-run, but I can answer the questions In order for the rear turn to act as running lights, you will need to change the sockets, and modify the wiring. I would not recommend this because it is harder to notice a light just getting brighter. then it is to notice a light coming on.
On the sissy bar. Some are made specifically, for certain models of bikes. Some are adjustable/universal. Now that you are thoroughly confused just ask questions before buying.

Cool, I just wanted to make sure that they are not running lights as well like the front ones. I was dreading removing the seat & grab bar again. I did rewire them correctly...just turn signals.
Just the fact the headlight is always on confused me. My '72 had a 3 way off/low/hi headlight switch.

On the sissy bar, I'm going to take measurements to relay them to any seller befor I buy.

Thanks again

I think the headlight being on all the time is because the law required motorcycles to have their headlights on at all times around then.

I did find one from a 77 but I just realized that my rear turn signals are mounted on my grab bar which the sissy bar would replace correct?
If so this would create yet another problem, getting say a new taillight with integrated turn signals.
Man this bike is an real addiction, almost as bad ad my boat was LOL!
