Spoke/Comcast wheel compatibility question from a NEWB

I've tried searches and surfing the web and I'm more confused than not.  I just bought a 1980 CB750C with comcast wheels, and I have a set of (year unknown) spoked 750 wheels that I want to use for a cafe' racer conversion.  Both sets have rear drum brakes and front single discs.  So far so good.  I just don't know if these wheelsets are universally compatible or if there are differences that are not readily apparent.

One additional detail.  The rear axles differ in one small way; the left end of the comcast wheel on the bike has a hex head so one could use a wrench to stabilize it while tightening the right side axle nut.  The spoked one has a solid end "cap" with small holes that could utilize a screwdriver or similar to stabilize it.

Any help from the obviously knowledgeable bunch here would be greatly appreciated.

   750 ? You have a great chance of it fitting but till you try it and check the spacing,
  I could never tell you ,from here(My veiw of nothing really).

The rear will be a direct fit, just use the cush drive from your comstar rim to make sure the chain lines up. The end on the axle makes no difference, unless, you have a preference of using a wrench, or screwdriver to loosen/tighten it. For the front, I know the axle is the same. I'm not sure if the disc will work with the newer calipers. I do know that early front forks will slide right into your triple trees.

I had a Comstar on the front of a 76 model with a single docs rotor. It went on a 81 model set of forks with minimal spacing needed. I bolted the dual rotors off the 81 directly to that wheel and it lined up with the calipers fine. There was roughly 1/8" difference in O.D. between the early rotor and the late model rotor. So that should not be a problem. I had to shave some width off the speedo drive to align the rotors to the calipers (and to center the rim in the forks)  and it needed a small spacer for the other side. I took pics and measurements when I did it. You should be able to find them in my "hackjob " thread.

FWIW department, and to close the loop.  No problem with the wheels at all by using the original Comstar axle-end spacers.  Easy-peasy.
