You could try fileling a couple of perpidicular grooves in the thread on the end of the bolt.Apply some antisieze to the bolt and carefully start the bolt into the reciever.Screw the bolt in working back and forth.This may restore the thread good enough to use.

I took a variation of your reply for the fix (I figured I could file it later if it didn't work)
I took a small pipe cutter & used it as an external thread restorer. It nibbled the small piece of metal that was stuck in the bolt thread.
I sprayed deep creep in the receiver & S L O W L Y worked it back & forth then cleaning it with a wire battery terminal cleaner.
I repeated it about 5 times. It seemed to do the trick. The bolt went in relatively easy w/o getting stuck. Most importantly no leaks.
Apprecieate the fast response.
