Stripped oil filter NEED HELP

I was doing an oil change today & somehow I strippped the filter bolt receiver.
There seems to be a chunck of metal in the threads of the bolt hat slightly stripped it.

I'm going to see if I can find a tap & die that size. Anyone know what that may be? ( I assume metric)

Also if that doesn't work, anyone know wher I can get an OEM replacement or maybe an adaptor to put a screw on filter?

Right: The filter housing bolt

You could try fileling a couple of perpidicular grooves in the thread on the end of the bolt.Apply some antisieze to the bolt and carefully start the bolt into the reciever.Screw the bolt in working back and forth.This may restore the thread good enough to use.

I took a variation of your reply for the fix (I figured I could file it later if it didn't work)
I took a small pipe cutter & used it as an external thread restorer. It nibbled the small piece of metal that was stuck in the bolt thread.
I sprayed deep creep in the receiver & S L O W L Y worked it back & forth then cleaning it with a wire battery terminal cleaner.
I repeated it about 5 times. It seemed to do the trick. The bolt went in relatively easy w/o getting stuck. Most importantly no leaks.

Apprecieate the fast response.

actually Slinger,

The bolt is ok (although it did cause the original problem) the receiver is what got messed up a bit.
I will retap it cleanly once  I find a tap that big. It looks like an M20 so buying one would be a bit pricey for a 1 time fix. I'm sure I can get my kid to do it in shop at school next year.

I would replace the stripped part instead of buying a tap that could cost more than the part..The tap will not replace the missing mat'l!

If it's working now and you can torque the bolt to spec,just use it.
