Stupid question about Frankenstein cafe build

baldfish
Hello.  I am a newbie to bikes in general and then I went and purchased a custom built 82' CB750c cafe bike that was created by a guy that builds drag bikes as my first bike.  So I think it is just left over pieces that he used to build it.  As such, it is not easy to work on.  On the other hand, this thing runs like a son-of-a-gun.  And it is beautiful in person, at least to me.  Anyway, I have a stupid question.  I have looked everywhere for this info.  I finally found manuals but they don't address this specifically that I can see.  And I know how to read an electrical schematic.  My brake light went out.  The running light works, just not the brake light.  And neither the front nor the rear works so I was assuming it wasn't either of those switches but rather a fuse - if this has one.  I have taken a lot of stuff off the bike in order to locate the fuse box but for the life of me, I can't find it.  Also he changed the forks to ones from a GSXR and the speedometer went out.  But I can't find another one for whatever year he used (I am not sure and he moved away).  I would love to find a used speedo.  Thanks for reading my long intro email.  And this is a terrible pic of the bike.  I'll get more later.

Have you checked the headlight bucket for the fuses? I don't know much about Suzuki speedos. Maybe look for a brand on the broken one. Or Google electric Suzuki speedo for images the look similar.

Someone else build=your nightmare. The builder might not have incorporated fuses  into the wiring. You are just going to have to start tracing down wires until you find the problem.

Interesting update.  The builder of the bike is back in town from the East Coast and I am taking him to lunch today to pick his brain about the bike.  If there are any specific questions you can think of that I should ask him, that would be great.  Also, there are a lot of beautiful bikes here.  Some of them more true to the original than my own.  I am happy with mine but I may get a different one in a few years.  I am extending the rear end this weekend about 4 inches.  That is my only complaint with the bike visually.

Three common places a builder hides things; headlight bucket, under the tank, under the seat/hump. I sure hope he put fuses on there.
