Took all day Saturday, half of Easter Sunday, and have mine all back together................
carb, new main jets (110s), went over them with compressed air and guitar strings,
had to have a shop retap a broken off screw on the accelerator pump (that was a close one),
bench synched them........fixed a hole in the #2 airbux to carb rubber boot.........new, oversized
clear fuel filter installed,,,,,,,,checked valve clearances, all ok.......topped off the battery
with distilled water, 2 cells were low, charged it up for maybe 4 hours......dumped 2 gallons of
Sunoco 93 in it, checked the oil (needs a change, maybe next time)..........turned the key,
blue light said neutral, hit the button and.........BBBRRAPPPPPPPPPP............BBBBRAAAPPPPPPP........
BBBBBBBBBBRAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPP.
Thing sounds like something off the motogp circuit.
Come on Saturday.

Feeling a little under the weather so I'm staying inside and not working on my bike.
Waiting for either me to get better or the weather to warm up a bit so I can finish putting it back together.

Spring has sprung here. I put a leisurely 120 on the clock Sunday and may make the same loop tomorrow. Stopped above the dam and took this pic of Jordanelle. Not much snow up here. At about 6500 ft asl.

Real life is slightly ahead of YouTube life -editing videos takes a lot of time!
But that 600 mile trip put the coffin-nails in an already old chain

Wow, so nice to see so many other people are waiting on parts too.
BTW I have another bike, but when you jump on a 998, you cant really take a leisurely ride. its like trying to tame a wild horse, the throttle just turns on its own.
Already secured sunday of next week as ride day, with a follow up of beer on the patio and the masters. Now that will be a good day
