The Ride to Work

With Spring breaking, and the snow gone, the Honda has been the ride to work for the last 2 weeks.
It's great.
Besides getting half frozen once or twice, it's like I wanna get up early to hit the road.
And, after work it's like, "wow. I get to go riding again."

Anyone else got a few of the ride to the salt mine?

'bout 8am, gotta be there at 830 or 9.
Time to go.

Down the street, the old airport where we hold the vintage meet in July, Mckee's Skypark.

The big thing to watch isn't the ice or snow, it's the washed gravel that's everywhere.

First off is a few miles of 2 lane twisties.

Lick Run Tavern.  Maybe half way.
A guy shot and killed his wife after drinking there one night a few years ago.
Place closed up shortly after, nobody want's it.

Things now get kinda tight, outside of town the gravel get's heavy again.

Coming out of the woods I always look at this guys house, he keeps the place immaculate.
This week it's his Pink Dogwood that sets the place off.

Close to work there's a small park for the Veteran's.

Then it's down the street, it's 8:45, and time to make the doughnuts.

well I'm just jealous. I'm 7 km through town, past 2 high schools on a busy residential street. pick any city picture and it could be me

of course, I could skip the residential area and go right to the clogged 4 lane highway.

At least it ain't Toronto . . .

Thanks for sharing Moto!  ride photos are the next best thing to a build.   Bit of a winding road to work, keep em coming.   EZ

Hell this weekend just gave me the ability to get to my shed and pull out the bike. Now I need to change the oil, renew registration, and change tires! Screw you and your 2 weeks of riding already!
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

I finally dusted off my bike this last night. I installed a new battery a few weeks ago but haven't ridden it. One of my front turn signals was hanging by a thread. I got a new mount of ebay and it came in yesterday. For some reason, I've got different turn signal mounts than most. Turns out they are off a Shadow or Magna. I'm not sure if someone swapped forks, the triple tree, or what. The signals themselves are CB-750, rectangular ones. But the mount is a rubber deal that wraps around the fork tube. It also has a non stock headlight. I'm thinking someone rode it into a tree or something at some point in it's life and had to replace the forks and headlight.

I rode to work today. 44 miles with a 40 MPH headwind most of the way. But it was a nice ride just to ride again. Looking forward to the ride home, I'll have a tailwind!. Only one day of riding this month. May isn't looking much better with rain and even a snow flurry or two on the 1st!.

Bike seemed OK. I treated the fuel with SeaFoam before parking it for the winter. It started right up. I noticed the valve cover gasket is leaking profusely. It used to just weep a bit but it's pretty bad now. I'm gonna have to break down and check the valves and replace the gasket. Just not looking forward to dealing with those stupid shims, but I've put it off too long.

had problems with my bike last night.

trouble starting. turned over OK but wouldn't catch. when it did it immediately stalled.

rectified by putting it on reserve, running to the gas station, and filling the tank.

if that's the only problem I have all season I'll be OK.
