Got my new highway pegs, and installed the new battery today. It had been getting hard to start cold. However after I installed the new battery it fired right up. I put the old battery on the charger around 8 hours ago, and it it still charging. I wonder if it is going bad?

Ordered a new set of sprockets, for the Toolmatic today. They will go nicely with the new chain Shiny sent me. 17 tooth (stock), for the front, and 45 tooth, for the rear. 48 was stock, but it has a 45 on it now, and pulls it with no problem. Also I am wanting to install a 16 inch rear wheel, and tire, so should bring the ratio down.

F, F-1 was 17-48, and F-2, F-3 was 14-43 with a 630 chain. The 45 tooth was stock on the 69-70 models.

yeh seen and read that ,
                                    " Here is a cool chain setup,Piute "

but getting the main drive gear even and balanced has to take something (metal)out to get it to fit maybe run with no cover ,,only broke a chain once, and my bad didn't know what to look for on teeth, and it went through 12-14 tires of hard hitting.before then .

You hear so many horror stories on the interweb about breaking cheap chains and engine cases.I always wondered how hard it is to actually break a chain.I NEVER broke one on any of my dirt bikes, but dirt is soft i guess.I have broke teeth off sprockets when a gravel goes thru the chain and sprocket,a few times, but never hurt a chain.

Today's chains are, so much stronger then the one's they had 30 years ago that I would not worry about one breaking.

Installed the new chain, and sprockets (Thanks Shinny) on the Toolmatic. Amazing difference. It rides, so much smother, and quieter.
