Time to winterize...

Well, I've spent the last few weekends cleaning up fallen leaves and stuff, so this weekend I put the bike up for the winter.  I added about 4 ounces of SeaFoam to the tank, topped it off with midgrade gas, put it on the center stand, and used a block of wood to get the front tire off of the garage floor.  I also hooked up the Battery Tender Jr to keep it topped up.  I may change the oil as it's been in there for a couple thousand miles (Rotella 5W-40 synthetic). Everything else looks good.

It's been a good year. I put on about 4000 miles on the bike. It's got a bit of a oil leaking issue, but I won't have time this winter to tear it all apart (current job assignment is in Long Island NY for the foreseeable future), and I intend to spend my weekends relaxing and helping my wife start and run her business.

It's been a good year. I hope next year will be just as much fun.

I'm glad to hear that your past year went well for you. These past few months have been a rush for me.I never had much in the way of expectations when i got my bike just a short while ago at the end of July.Yourself and a few others have been nice enough to help guide me along on what needed to be done to get things up and running. Here it is right at 3 months later, and I have gone from a non-running bike that had been sitting for years, to one that I have already logged just under 1,000 miles on! I never would of imagined anything like that! You guys have been a blessing ,and a huge help, that i desperately needed. The past year?Yes,my year has been a good year, too. But the past few months have been exciting! Thanks guys! Luke,I hope things go according to plan for your wife's new business venture.Or better even than you and her's expectations!.Best wishes and God bless!

I recently winterized my bike and decided it would be a good time to pull the carbs and give them a good clean.  I'm still in the process of doing that.

Depending on how the weather holds (garage is unheated), I might have time to look into fixing some oil leaks, recovering the seat, sandblasting and painting the headers, and replacing the indicators.

Really enjoying working on the bike.  I'm also very impressed by the people on this forum.  You guys are a great bunch of people.
