Trip from NYC to Lynchburg, VA on 78 cb750f

(Need to separate this post from prior one on preparation for 1st trip.)

Shinyribs, and others, what route do you suggest to Lynchburg from D.C. or Philly (or from NYC, for that matter) if I want to stick to highway vs expressway?

I'm coming to Liberty for my graduation May 10, and may have some time on Saturday to ride up into the mountains. What do you suggest is the best tour while I'm there?

I would suggest getting on Rt.29. Goes pretty much all the way from DC (although I would take Rt. 66 till Haymarket). It is a wonderful ride with georgeous forests and nice smooth curves to have a little fun on.

Great. Thanks. NYC to Haymarket looks like there's no alternative but expressway all the way, but then 29 looks more scenic. Thanks.
