Ok, so i have a CB750 project a couple years in the making now. The entire bike has been tore down and every last piece and part has been powder coated satin black and then accented things like engine covers, headlight ring, and odds and end pieces with lightning blue powder coat.
Heres where my issue starts, i strectched the swing arm because i always thought the it didnt look proportional with the stock swing arm. Its got a long front and then a short back end, so i stretched it and i think it really helped with proportion. And in long term plans i want to bracket race it at the track so i needed the stretch. Well....if you look at the pics i attatched the stock wheel just doesnt work, it kills the look. It looks good from the side, but when you get behind it you see a long wide bike with a tire that looks like it came of your 5 year olds bycicle.
So i was feeling froggy and i got out the tape measure and started to realize that with my stretched swing arm, i had the room to fit the rear tire of my CBR 954. So i took it of my bike and stuck it on the cb and i found my calling. You can see in the pics how much of a difference it made, it really filled out the gaps that the stock tire couldnt fill. But the i ran into the problem, the sprocket doesnt line up with the front sprocket. But i wouldnt mind doing away with the 630 stock chain and doing a swap so it can take a 520-530 chain.
So im here to ask for anybodys help, its obvious i need to go bigger in the rear...but how. Has anyone swapped to a bigger rim on there cb? Preferably to if im gonna drag race im gonna want to have a tubeless in the back so id need a tubless rim (not a huge priority right now though). But any ideas, suggestions, tips, anything would be greatly appreciated! thank you.
