Turn Signals will not work. Help!

surfish95747
Okay guys, I have been trying to get these things to work to no avail.

I have a 1980 cb750. It has a brand new wiring harness, after market bulb front turn signals and an led all in one tail light/turn signals. I have upgraded the flasher relay to a three prong LED relay. I had all the lights and turn signals working etc before I tore it down this last time to put on new forks, rear wheel and harness etc.

What does work. The head light/hi beams, rear tail light and rear brake light (via the front brake master cylinder), and the horn (its on the control switch so I thought I would mention that). The turn signals do not work, front or rear. The front turn signals have two wires each, red and black (so not one for running lights, just power and turn on and off). At one point while threading the harness through the headlight bucket, one of the wire leads touched the bucket and the rear turn signal flashed on without the ignition being turned to on (battery was hooked up). I don't know if that means anything.

Okay here is the wiring diagram for my bike.

Okay, now that you can see my wire colors etc, What I had hooked up last time when everything was working is this; turn signal black wire was plugged into the light blue and the red wire plugged into the green wire from the harness (see pictures below)

No when I do it the exact same, nothing happens. The wires going to the flasher relay are exactly how I had it when they were working

Now I don't have anything plugged into the speedo/tach wire cluster because I don't have one yet. If anybody can eyeball this and tell me if they see something I am not doing right or have a good way to trouble shoot this I would be eternally grateful!

One wire should be getting voltage from the turn signal switch ( "on-off") and the other wire should be ground?

Yeah. I guess I must not be getting that voltage? I don't know. When I have the ground wire plugged to the green ground, and then plug the on off wire into the running light wire, the turn signal stays on and will turn off, when I switch the turn signal switch to that light. Ugh.

A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.~George Washington
