Vintage Honda 50

Mayor Tom
Inherited this scooter when my uncle recently passed.   It could be from the 70's or 60's....I just don't know.   The vin is a 5 digit stamped into the frame.  Any suggestions for where I can learn more about this cool machine?   I will soon need to buy and install a new lock/key/run switch.

Thank you.

There should be a tag on the frame somewhere with the model and build date on it. Can you post the VIN? I have a friend with a book of Honda VIN's I could check. Also, a picture would help.

Unless the plate has been removed, it doesn't have one.   ....just the five digits stamped into the frame.  Thanks for your help!

That is a real old one. It is probably a "Cub". Can you post a picture of the whole bike?

That is an old "Cub" I wonder if it has the pushrod engine? When looking for parts, you look under "models with no year" as Honda did not assign model yeas until 1975-76.

Thank you, TOOLS!  Very helpful.   Will have fun researching further.  BTW...C100 E is stamped on the engine so it looks like it was manufactured somewhere between '58 and '67.
