+1.  If we ride our bikes responsibly, maybe some will notice and give a little more respect and notice.  What's annoying are the spodes who pull wheelies, and lane hop, and ride like idiots.  They just ruin it for everyone.  It's like having 99 good apples in the basket, and one bad one.  The one bad one just spoils the whole batch.  Be an ambassador for safe, responsible riding.  I'm doing it every time I'm out there.

my first group ride was on a fund-raising day. was on my son's crotch-rocket [aside: so glad to have the CBK now!] I was at the back of the pack trying to keep up; looked at the speedo and saw I was doing 120something kmh [75mph] on an 80kmh [50 mph] backroad . . . and was losing ground! when I caught up to the group I heard some of them bragging about hitting 220 kmh [135 mph] . . . later, on the main highway some passed a row of cars on either side [using shoulder and lane], I asked aobut why they rode like that and the answer was "because we can". didn't ride with that group again.

Yeh some b-holes make us all look bad,I'm one of those sunday driver/riders just poking along checking out Gods glory.
 Been on plenty(100s) of group rides,and there seems to be some that just don't know what respect means

I like vintage bikes because they take me away from the clutter of technology that I work with everyday and back to a simpler time of mechanical elegance and simplicity.. "ninadm"
