Well I screwed that up

Bobber0071
well my little bobber is a big mess now. I think the motor is seize not going any were.  I been messing with the clutch so the case had been open for awhile. Now that I got my clutch issue fixed went to try to kick it just to make sure things were good will not budge. Put it in first gear rear tire will spin but piston are doing nothing. put in netural and i can stand on the kicker and it goes no where.  Taking a break from that fricking mess. I will pull the motor and see what I can find out. Oh and I strip the upper case plug that hold the spring and bearing for the net. position. I about to give up on this hobby.

You put the spacer back in behind the clutch basket?  Pull the plugs out and see if the engine turns?
In 1972 I had to make a choice...quit riding...or quit drinking.  God says it's safe to get back in the saddle now...at least I'm still alive...and feel more alive with the wind in my face!  Now riding "Helen Black"...1982  CB750SC.

Listen, Bobber. If you give up we should all give up. Did you read my posts? I completely rebuilt my motor only to leave a nut in the head and blew it up the first time out on it. I'm still trying to find a head I can afford. Don't quit. If it's a hobby than there's no need to give up anyway since time isn't an issue. You know one of the biggest reasons I don't quit? I have another bike I can ride while my 750's down. If you do, there's even less reason to quit. This can be a time and money consuming hobby, and can also get very frustrating. But you know what they say, if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Keep on it, you'll get it going.

Basic troubleshooting:  if the clutch was the last thing you were working on, chances are that's where the problem is. I agree with MikeFoot: maybe you left something out when putting it back together.  Pull the clutch basket and see if it frees up.

A human designed the bike, humans assembled the bike, a human took the bike apart, human(s) can put it back together. You can do this. It's all part of this vintage MC deal. You can expect little stuff like this to brighten your day. It's also a great learning opportunity. Just think: You figure this out, and people will be asking you about clutches and stuff.   We're here for you. It WILL run again.

If all else fails, have a beer or two, let it sit until tomorrow, let your mind work on the problem, and in a day or so, you'll get an idea about what might be wrong.  Unless this bike is your daily driver...

I am just a little upset I strip out a part on the upper case so I will have to order a new one. It  is  one of the projects I have going on so I am thinking of pulling the motor and seeing what I did wrong. It is not my only one. I will post sopme pics of my screw up.
