What color should I paint my motor and what should I use?

I am wanting to piant my motor but I can't decide between black or silver. I am going to paint the tank and side covers red and the seat will be black with red stitching. I am going to polish out all the covers on the motor. So what color? Balck or silver? What kind off paint has worked for you? Opinions please!

Well going by your description, I would say black. You will need to use a vht style paint (very high temp).
Along with the polished covers, you could also not paint the very edges of the fins on the engine and that would make a very nice contrast too,.

I used the VHT paint for my engine. I went with black fins and sivler cases. Check my posts for some good pics. I have had good luck with this paint. As with any paint job, preperation is the key. Good luck and post some pics.

Thanks for the input. I was already leaning more toward black. I am going to go with black. I just ordered a gasket kit and when it gets here I will start on painting and polishing the motor. I plan on posting some pics on my little build thread.
