What is this Please

katman

Hi everyone. Just bought this 75 750K and doing some detail work.
Pulled off the sidecover and this was dangling under the battery box.
This is stupid, but what is it and were should it be mounted.
Thanks

That is actually the starting safety thing-a-majiggy. It some how keeps, you from starting it in gear, or with the clutch out. It mounts under the battery box somewhere.

Okay, I've looked at and around the battery box and see no place this could have mounted.
I am stumped. Also my oil pressure warning light is not coming on. Bulb is good. would it be the sender.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

It mounts behind the left side cover.Tools is right about what it is,too.Neutral safety switch,i guess you would call it.It goes to the bottom left hand side of the electrical "panel".  Scroll down a few posts on this link here and you can see a pic where Donald labeled everything clearly

Unfortunately I do not have one to get a picture of at the moment, but it does go on there. The bottom left if I remember right.
To find out if the sensor is bad. remove the wire from it, and ground it. If the light comes on the sender is bad. If the light does not come on. Start tracing the wire back.

Thanks shiny and tools, That helps tremedously. The bracket is broke off mine so I'll make one and attach my safety switch to it and then bolt it to the place on the left.
