Where Did The Gremlins Take My Carb Parts!

dremoto
Hello everyone! First post on here. I own a 1974 cb750 k4. Going through my fuel system to find rust, a lot of rust. Anyhow, while I am waiting for my tank to be derusted (chain and vinegar method) I went for the carbs. Only when I removed them did I notice inconsistency. There was a part missing on the choke of one of the carbs.....

Has anyone seen this problem before??? Is there a remedy? I don't believe that to be a serviceable part. I plan on going to Maine Cycle which is close to me and see if I can find a replacement as a worst case. I hope to hear some good responses and want to say I love the forum. I always thought the choke was a bit weak.......

Try taking a dime and gluing it to the back side to cover the hole. I've never done it before but if it will clear it should work, I think.

I would but I believe the gas will interact with the glue and it will fall off inside the carb.

my buddy used gorrila glue to fix a hole in his gas tank...it works. I don't know how long.
