yes.that tank is waaaaaaaayyyyyy too big.cut it down or find another tank.you know what makes a cool chopper tank is a honda mini trail qa 50 tank.or you can do this to that sporty tank:

i love the gas cap on that tank, how the hell did you do that?? i like the size of my tank though will hold a bunch of gas!

i bought the gas cap and bung off a guy on ebay.all he did was find some mason style caps and cut a slot in a heavy id tubing on the lathe.not that hard to make,but i just bought it.50 bucks.saves time.

hell yeah,that thing holds like 4 gallons i bet!!!(my tank holds like 1.5)

Can I suggest you put it back?  ;)  ;)  Should've started with a cheaper K model?  For some reason these types of bikes just don't look right with the cast wheels.  Have you sat on it?  I can't imageine the slightly rearset F pegs in conjunction with that seat...Gonna make some forward controls?

FYI, the carbs that came on that bike REALLY want an airbox to work well...SOme people have been sucessful in getting them to work with pids/stack, but I'm still skeptical of what 'well' is.  You'll be looking at aftermarket carbs for your project.

Yes Well You are right about the pegs so i am going to put pegs on the front of the frame just behind the front tire almost like forward controls. no back brake either but 85% of your braking power is in the front anyways and a suicide shifter so i got rid of all the junk in the back plus it will look cool! i will post more pics as i go along to show the progress and thanks for taking the time to give me ideas i really need them.

As for the gas tank cap, i am going to look on ebay right now, i am excited!!

no back brakes?suicide clutch?sounds freakin sweet..........not that gas cap is a "weld on" piece.search "glass gas cap"and you should find it.that shits alot of work though.if i didnt fuck up the stock 1 when i sectiond the tank,i woulda welded the stock 1 back in place.cuz you gotta vent this gas cap.and the guy that sells them says"youll be fine and you dont have to vent it"well hes not telling the truth.

Found the glass caps, 55.00 is a bit much seeing i just bought a whole coffin tank for 51.00 on ebay so i made a 40.00 offer see if he bites, if not i may just give him the 55.00 cause it will be one of a kind!

yeah it is kinda steep for a mason jar cap.i offerd him 50 shipped and he said yeah.

As Soon as it get's here i will be posting!! took the engine out today what a task that was, didn't know the frame comes apart to get the engine out, i would like a stand of some sort to bolt this thing to while i rebuild it, got all the gaskets and a new complete bolt kit for the engine, now looking for clutches and an oil filter, any suggestions on the oil?? i am an ams oil member so i get a huge discount. Also should i soak the clutches in oil before installing??

if youre taking it all apart like that,why not hard tail it?it looks way better that way.dont know where youre from,but around here guys will do the work for around 3 to 400.and im not sure but i think guys are even makeing aftermarket hard tail frames for the cb 750s.

hell yeah.i really like that style of tank.and you might be able to find some kinda bolt on hard tail kit(not positive but I know they make em for sportsters)
