IF the fuse is old, resistance can build up inside the fuse and cause it to blow.
Other than that, unless something is wrong, I have never had my main blow and I use a 14 amp fuse. Indeed, same fuse now for about 15 years. I couldn't find a 15 in the right size and tried a 14 and just left it. I found a 15 later but the 14 was working fine and so I left it.
Part of this time was with a vetter windjammer with a halogen, part with no vetter but still h4 halogen, another part is with a true HID bulb and ballast. Still the original fuse block, and harness. Running a dyna s too, 5 ohm coils, the originals.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
