Did not really send me to a different brand. Just away from Harley. Man there was so much that happened, but to narrow it down. I had taken my 67 88 cubic inch shovel down. It was kick start only with a 6 volt system. One night the battery boiled, and died. My former friends (that turned out to be typical RUB's with their "me to Harley's" I went down with left me high, and dry. The next day a guy with a Goldwing helped me, by letting me charge the 6 volt battery off his 12 volt system with some wires we found. I got the bike to the Harley dealer. When I went to the service manager, I was told "were not going to work on that bike" and he turned his back to me, and walked away. I pushed the bike 3 blocks down the street to a battery store. They just happened to have a battery for it. It got me back to the camp ground. I left the bike there for the next two days, and just took Taxi's. Swore I would never ride one again.
Motorcycles are my life, not my lifestyle.

P.S. That was not the first time a Harley left me walking, but I have never had a Honda leave me walking.

I like vintage bikes because they take me away from the clutter of technology that I work with everyday and back to a simpler time of mechanical elegance and simplicity.. "ninadm"
