carb rebuild kit suggestions

duluth dog
okay well I've tried to take apart and clean my carbs on my 1977 cb750, but im still having a lot of problems.  so now im looking for a carb rebuild kit.  I've found a few different ones but im not sure what i should get.  I've found some with mainjets #115 and #105, but i have no idea what these mean.  anyone want to explain whats the difference and what i should get for my bike, it'd be really appreciated

All you should need to rebuild your carb is 6- 10X6X2mm O-rings for the fuel tubes, an accelerator pump kit (vintageCB750.com), and maybe new float bowel gaskets. Get the ones that are molded into shape, and not the ones that look like a big O-ring. I have gotten them at Z1enterprises.com. That's all I ever use to rebuild the keyhole carbs like you have.

i thought that because it would die when i take it off choke then it would be something with the jets. would a bad accelerator pump do the same? and just for curiosities sake what do the #115 and such mean?

It's most likely plugged pilot jets. You need to remove them to properly clean them. I did a write up on how to remove them awhile back. It is in the repair/tips section. Just search for "removing pressed in pilot jets". I also like to drill them out to 0.45mm. This makes the bike start a lot better, and run cooler at lower rpms.

At high rpms you are on the main jet, so yes it changes. Also these bikes are very cold blooded, and will not run well until warmed up. This is something that drilling the pilot jet out helps with.
