All the cb float needles I have seen have had rubber tips. BUT before you get new needles, check the needle seat and make sure it has nothing crusted to it at all. Lightly scrape a flat blade screwdriver on it and see if anything thing comes off. Remember, lightly.

Well I suppose you might want to check the brass tubes now. Also how high did you set the floats? If I remember correctly the height is supposed to be 22mm measured from the base of the carb where the bowl gasket will sit, to what would be the bottom of the float at its lowest point. When you do it, hold the carbs at tan angle so the needle is closed but the pin is NOT pressed in, the pin in the needle that is. A final test would be to shut off your gas and drop 1 bowl, raise the float to close the needle and turn on the fuel. If is still comes out, then I would get new needles. just have water handy to wash off any gas.

Go with the manual. I say this because i thought the earlier K bikes used 26 as in 69 - 72. Do you have the brass floats? If so, check to make sure there are no cracks in them either.

No prob re run, ....I have the black plastic floats. Thought one might have a leak?  Sorry about all the 101 questions, I'm behind the learning curve on older 750s. I got this one from a guy who got it from a guy and so on. So I'm not sure what all has been done and done correctly.....not sure if what I have is stock or from something else for most parts.........The carbs don't leak all the time though, they do stop as the bike is running...fuel comes out the bottom over flow hoses as well as the small ventry holes on the sides of the intake opening ( no air filters on carbs).

They have black plastic floats? Do they have an accelerator pump on #2 also? Does your manual say the floats are supposed to be black plastic? What letter designation do your carbs have on the side?

Hey, I don't see a pump on two, the man. doesn't say either brass or plastic. No number on side just, Kei hin. They have the black rubber covers on top that you pull back to adj. air flow.

Hmm ok. Well then I would go with the 26 then for sure. That closes the needle sooner then. Have you been able to see if the gas shuts off when you close needle by hand?

Hey re run- I turned the carbs upside down and tried to blow through the fuel line.......could not. I may go with a 77 carb set I found though.........

Well you will need to get some carb to manifold rubbers for the 77 as they are larger I think. I can however give you a lot of help with them as I have a 78 and they are virtually identical except for a slight jet change and adjustable needles.
