cb750 turn signals. HELP!

dave Esch
Finally got my signals from J&P and I cannot get any power to any of them. Got the headlight off and found a gnarled mess of wires courtesy of the previous owner. I have only been able to find one wiring diag on the net and it is poor quality at best. Should I hear a relay clicking or anythign? I took the switch apart and it looks good far as I can tell. By the way, the bike had no signals when I bought it. I am afraid he took them off because he could not get them to work. Any ideas?

Ok. So after several more hours of messing around with the wiring this is what I have found. According to the schematic at this link :http://www.cmsnl.com/classic-honda-fansite/honda_wiring_diagrams/CB750(K1).jpg
There is a part called a regulator. Going to the regulator are white, green and black wire. I do not have this part on my bike, however I do have these wires and they are not connected to anything. Right at where the wires end there is a hanger for the regulator, but no regulator. I am wondering if the regulator is some sort of relay. If this is the case it could be my problem since the green wire (which is common to all the lights) is included in the diagram. So now my question is, is this regulator related to the turn signal circuit?

I think you are missing the turn signal relay (flasher). Green is ground, Black is +12v from ignition and white goes to the turn signal switch if I remember correctly.
Leave the green unconnected for a 2 wire flasher.
For a quick test connect the black and white wires together then turn on the ignition switch. Now the turn signals should go on and off when operating the turn signal switch but they just won't flash without the flasher. An automotive flasher will work. Get the heavy duty one or use an electronic flasher.
