clutch replacement

Jay15
Hi Everyone, my 1990 cb750 has now close to 80k miles. I want to replace the clutch as I assume thats about time, so I bought parts from bikebandit a few days ago. Is there any tips or difficulties for this job. Thanks alot, ride safe  !

Well I do not know anything about that year but if you have a wet clutch, I am assuming you do, soak your new clutch plates in the oil that you put in your bike. Also make sure that if there are grooves or cambered edges that you face them all the same direction, unless of course your manual says differently. I am going with what I know on the 70's cb bikes but a lot follow the same rules.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Yeah, soak plates in oil...Use oil that doesn't say 'energy conserving' on the label.  Rotella is good.

Make sure you have new gaskets, new oil filter, etc...Might as well change the oil, eh?

Aquire correct impact socket, and use impact gun for main clutch nut.

Plate install quite simple, but gauging mechanical ability over the net is hard.  Should always have a shop manual.
