If you look in the manuals section here, there is an article on installing duel disc breaks. All you need is the hardware (bracket, caliper, and disc) from any single disc setup. You just turn the caliper around on the bracket and mount it on the right leg. Pretty neat how it is done. I am currently collecting the parts to do it on my 76 CB 750-A

I'm a bit unskilled when it comes to navigating this site.

Is there a link that you could give me that brings me to the thread that talks about the dual disk conversion?
"dual disk manual" in the search line, but I don't think that is what you were trying to steer me towards...

Thanks

This should get it for you. It was under sohc duel disc conversion.
Hope this helps.

Re: fork question???

I was checking out this conversion recently and I was wondering?

Wouldn't it be easier and safer, to just get the right fork leg from a CB with duals, new wheel, and master cylinder?

Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but it seems to leave a bit to be desired when it comes to structural soundness...

I feel the same way.  I read the instructions from this site, on how to convert.  It seems less than dependable for one of the single most critical systems on my bike, but that is just my comfort level.  My issue with changing wheels, however, is that I have spoked wheels, and the dual disc forks ('79 L model -- I have a '79 K model) used Comstar wheels, which I really don't care to switch to:  some Comstar's used tubes, and some were tubeless, so that makes things a bit more complicated, as well.  Best of luck, whatever you choose.  Cheers!

If you look at both of the fork legs. They both are machined for the break caliper mounts. And they are machined right and left mirroring each other. This conversion is too simple.

I think the 80 comstars were tubeless and up. The 70s were not, pretty sure that is right.
As for the conversion, it is perfectly safe actually. Many have done it and it will last with no problems.

Re: fork question???

I was also thinking that the forks may be mirrored, but they are not.

Perhaps my Japanese CB750 did not have the mirrored fork parts...  Not really sure.

Really I think I am just being silly.  The single brake works well in the bad condition it is in.  So that being said, I'm going to upgrade to a steel braided brake line, and install the new EBC rotor I just bought.  After rebuilding the caliper and throwing on some new pads, I bet this girl will stop wonderfully.

Thanks for all your help, everyone.
