I've got this odd "wobble" at low speeds around 30-40 mph, goes away at high speeds. Acts like an unbalanced tire on a car, but this just recently showed up on my bike. Anyone had this experience before? or how to fix it?
My bike has a front fender on it and tires have less than 1000 miles on them. the bike is 75 cb750F

NOT AT ALL like A car there is no safe place when you go down
When was the last time U messed with the front end, anything(fender, brakes, wheel, tree's,)
Be sure everything ie torx right and nothing wobbles by pushing and pull on "" everything "",(spokes too)
Check to be sure the balance weight is still there ??Rubber not shifted or lifting ? Very scary N dangerous.
Must find what it is

ha i know its not like i car, i meant dynamically like a car imbalance.
So should i check the spokes?
I had the fender off for a while, but its back on now. and i replaced the brake pads a few months ago.

Mine is doing the same thing. I just put on new tires and had the spokes checked. They passed inspection. We are suspecting springs possibly,at this point. I am new to these bikes and still learning, but after a knowledgeable mechanic friend of mine looked at and rode my bike today he is telling me to look into new springs. I'll post here if I find a solution. Good luck and let us know what you find, too. Thanks

OH,I checked the wheel bearings, too.Wasn't that either.

With spokes ya just wont to give them a fill to be sure they all seem the same, with you hand reach across afew and sqeeze use the same patter all the way around,If some get loose you'll fill it,
Some take there tire off ,When they do there brakes Did you,If so check your caps are right and tight .
believe some have adjustments for calipers ,mine don't,only go on 1 way.
"O" check yo tire pressure

Have you replaced the fork fluid? If there is a difference in levels, or if one side's fluid is more worn than the other, it could explain the issue. Check the fork seals, as they commonly fail, leaking fluid, causing an imbalance.
Check the spoke tension, both sides. If some are loose, it can deform/destabilize the wheel as it spins.
As your bike is 37 years old, it could, very likely, be worn fork springs. I'd recommend Progressive Fork Springs, and Progressive 412 Rear Shocks. Not the most expensive, not the least. The improvement in ride, and traction control, is considerable. They're worth every penny. Cheers!

Sarge, did you notice and adverse handling with your progressives? I have heard some people that swaer by them, and others that say that handling in the corners can feel mushy? I dont know how hard and fast you take corners, but I'm sure you've pushed it hard enough to know if it was overly mushy or not.

Twenty-five years ago, I liked to drag the pegs, but not anymore. We just rode the 750, two-up, a couple of weeks ago, for 120 miles on a day trip. No issues, no concerns -- bike performed flawlessly. I ride pretty tamely, so I am not an expert on their sporty capabilities. For sedate, tour riding, they're superb. Beyond that, I just don't know. Sorry. Cheers!

Thank for the input,Sarge. If they handle two-up as good as you say then they couldn't be too awfully soft.

I had low speed shake in the handlebars, only up to 30-40mph. Finally fixed it by tightening the bearings in the steering head. They didn't have any free-play, but needed some pre-load. Get your front wheel off the ground, and see how free it is to turn the steering. It should be slightly stiff. You can go to the trouble of adjusting it as per the manual, but it is easy to just tighten it up a little.

Good point. I read this last night and went ahead and order a tapered bearing set for my bike. I hope that cures it.

I got mine off eBay. They weren't all ballz brand. $30 and free shipping. I'm curious to see what the bearing and race numbers are to see if I can get them local cheaper, but I doubt you can beat $30.

I hope, you get the top, and bottom seals with your set. I know All Balls has the seals. I get mine from Cycle-X.
