headlight issue

Redwing-2
New to this forum, been surfing and found it while looking for parts. Just starting to bring back to life my old 1976 CB750, rebuilt carbs, and front disc brake, replaced the right hand side harness as starter switch was disintegrated. Everything seems fine except no voltage to headlight. Any ideas? Not sure if it was working a few years ago when last run, or if new problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Well just hook the headlight to the battery to make sure it still works. Hard to do any other work if the headlight is burned out!
Once you verify the headlight is working, start at the headlight switch on the left side. If your starter button was shot, that could be too. They work close to the same way.
After that, it is tracing wires and checking connections. Old corroded connections certainly don't help.

Re-run,

Thanks, headlight checked out good, then found problem in lo-hi beam switch, cleanup up contacts and rebuilt switch, works fine now. Thanks again.
