 some one told me about scouring the inside so the rubber will seal better have any one heard of this?

The seals are stationary to the piston that slides up and down the bore of the master cylinder. If your scour the bore of the M/C it will probably do nothing but chew up your new seals.

The smoother the better IMO.

  thank you  for that.       ok then here is the confusion.    we had rebuilt the master cylinder a while back every thing new except what I think it called the plunger.  ANd the rubber on the piston still looks to be in good shape.  should I just order a whole new kit to be sure? I blew out all holes with a air hose. and brake cleaner.  all new rubbers and spring and piston. ?

Every kit I've ever seen came with a new piston. They seem to corrode pretty bad (worse than the M/C itself). Is the bore of your MC pretty smooth? Are you positive you got the seals installed in the right direction? It's super easy to get them backwards.

according to the book they are in the right direction but according to the book the lock spring goes on 1st .....so not sure on that one. going to take a picture in a lil bit but some of the inside is has a gauge to it.
