Thanx Rich,
I cleaned them up with some green 3m pad and can't wait to throw it back in the bike first thing in the am...tomorrow is riding day...finally! Six weeks into the project and ready to rock and roll.
The carbs were already gone as were the seat, tank, headlight, starter, regulator and exhaust. But the instrument cluster and the final drive (shaft) should more than get my $$$ back. Might even work on the engine over the winter and see what I can do with it. The PO pulled the cam cover off and swiped something out of there but haven't really taken the time to see what. The cams and chains are still there though. The dual calipers in the front are the same as min...so I can ride while I rebuild those and then just do a swap. Brings my total investment up to about $1200 as the original bike I paid $450 for.
In 1972 I had to make a choice...quit riding...or quit drinking. God says it's safe to get back in the saddle now...at least I'm still alive...and feel more alive with the wind in my face! Now riding "Helen Black"...1982 CB750SC.
