linkgage removal

hi lads can you tell me if the gearshift linkage system can be removed without the motor coming out. its a 1995 cb 750, think its the same as nighthawk 750, cheers all, ps does the shaft where the gear selector goes onto come out as well

If you just mean the linkage that rotates the shifter drum, im almost positive that those parts are accessible by removing engine covers with the engine still installed. But the factory service manual will be able to tell you for certain. If you mean the shifter forks themselves then you will definitely have to remove the engine and open the cases.
