number one plug fouling

I have a 1977 cb750 with cycle x carbs and my number one plug keeps fouling. I have switched coils and does not fix problem have good spark number two plug is not fouling one carb runs number one and two plugs so i dont think its in the carb. any help??

I would check compresion and valve adjustments

From what I've read on the cycleX carbs,usually the center plugs(2&3) tend to foul before the outer because of the difference of the runners. So,like you said,probably not fuel related.

Can you determine if it is fuel fouled or oil fouled? Is it dry black(fuel) or greasy black(oil)?
