I want to get one of these:
http://www.autobarn.net/acmc-1.htmlIt says: "Charges in 2 to 12 hours. A must for motorcycle owners. Has a quick disconnect harness with ring-lug adapter. Hook up the harness once. No need to take the battery out again to charge it. For 6 and 12 volt batteries. Reverse polarity protection. By Schumacher."
My main question is, does charging the battery with it still hooked up to the bike present any problems to the electrical system, assuming the ignition was off?
I'm just curious because, as we all know, the charging systems on these bikes leave a lot to be desired. It hasn't died on me since that fateful first ride, but I don't want it to happen again either. Because of all the work I've been doing on the bike, I haven't been riding it at high enough speeds to recharge the battery fully. I just want to keep it topped off so that there aren't any problems.
