Installed it on my cb750, I'm getting a reading of 13.2 v at 5k rpm. Does this sound right? Aldo when the bike is just idling I'm getting around 12.2 v. I'm just worried its to low and I have another problem on my hands.

There is a whole chapter on the charging system in the FSM for your bike.  It's on the home page of our forum, in the Manuals section.  Download it (it's FREE!).

At idle, the charging system is not supplying enough voltage/current to charge the system.  It only does so if the engine is running over ~2200 rpm.  This is by design.  You should be able to rev the bike up to about 5K rpm, and see the regulator keep the voltage from going higher than 14.5 volts at that RPM.

Again, these thoughts are off of the top of my head.  Read the manual to find out the official info.

I recall that that regulator is adjustable.  You need to rev up the engine and then set the output voltage per the manual's value.  At idle - as already stated, voltage will drop down.
