ok so have you actually tried to start it yet? Make sure the kill switch is on obviously. Make sure fuel does flow to your carbs. Sometimes people will have fuel lines that are too long and coil and that can prevent fuel from getting where it needs.
You fitted points, When you set gap, it should be about .012 - .014 or so. It should be set to JUST start opening at the F marks for each set of points. To be honest, I installed a dyna-s a few years back but if I remember correctly(it should be stamped on the points plate too) the left point is 1-4 and the right is 2-3.
I think this also works the same for the coils.
You should also adjust your cam chain. The static way is to get 1-4 at the T mark and then back it up a few degrees. Then release the lock nut and then back out the bolt. The plunger sets itself. You may have to take off the unit and clean it, you can reuse the gasket there if you do not tear it badly. I tore the side of mine all the way across and reused it and no leaks. Just be careful cleaning it as you need to take out the plunger to do it and it is spring loaded and will shoot across the garage!
Also, did you make sure the carbs were clean? If you have not checked, you should pull them off and check things out. Make sure the bowls and float needles are clean. then unscrew your jets and make sure it is clean in there.
If you have not done so, get the manual here.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
