I know there's another posting on this forum about how to best get that bolt off. Try a search for "alternator bolt" or something like that.
I had the same issue, and what helped my situation was a good soaking with PB Blaster, waiting about 5 minutes, then rapping (lightly) on the bolt with a hammer to work the solution in deeper. The bolt spun off easily after that. Remember to take all rust and contaminants off of the shaft and the rotor mounting surface before you put it back together.
I agree that leaving it in gear, and making sure the back wheel doesn't move (foot brake, or pushing the rear wheel onto the ground) will help a great deal. I did mine while the engine was out of the frame, which made it a little tougher.
