sintered or not sintered

waterboy
New CB owner here...I have a 82 CB750k that I've been getting up and going. The bike hasn't been tagged for the road since 1989! needless to say it's in a bit of disrepair. I was hoping someone could tell me if the stock front rotor uses sintered brake pads or not? The guy I talked to at the local honda shop couldn't even tell me the answer 100% or not though he was leaning towards not based on what the package said for the entry level pads that the parts list called for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I dont know if your bike was stock with sintered pads or not, either. BUT,if stock was NOT sintered,i would not use them unless you really need an aggressive/grippy pad. Sintered pads on rotors not designed for them eat up rotors real fast.

Thank you even the guy at the dealership didn't know that for sure he just guessed it would probably chew up the rotors. I suppose for now I'll just get the non-sintered ones until I know 100%.

Easy to get the answer . Just call the manufacturer.

Question really is sintered with what materials?
On a Roadstar Adventure.

Sintering has nothing to do with whether a pad should be used or not. It is the material contained in the pad.
It is if the pad is metallic of not that matters.
However, I am pretty sure these brakes were originally organic.
If anything, since rotors are hard to get for these bikes, I would stick with organic for extended life, especially since you have dual rotors anyways. I would toss on some braided lines if you need additional braking power.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
