There is no way to install them without boogering your trim rings. You either have to pry the trim ring off, which leaves little dimples all around it when you crimp it back on (what I did),or you cut the trim ring off and them use JB Weld,or some sort of epoxy to glue it back on. They won't be perfect, but the rubber isolators that the gauges mount in hide it pretty much. The overlay itself is east to apply. It will dim your gauges somewhat, too. Also,it is nearly impossible to get the gasket back in place where the two halves come together under the ring. If my bike gets rained on now, water will get in the gauges and they fog up the next time i ride. Clears up ina few minutes, though.

Im not trying to talk you out of it,just letting you know all the cons.

I got mine off ebay for $15 and am happy with them. I am considering looking for LED bulbs to help brighten the faces, though. There are two types of gauges on these bikes. Nippen Denso and something else.Cant remember right now. The ebay ads will tell you how to tell which gauges you have so you get the right kit.

Just to show you, in this pic you can see where the little dimples are where i crimped the trim ring back on.

Don't mean hijack the thread, but Shiny, have you tried applying a thin bead of RTV Silicone around the gasket area to seal it?  It's super easy to apply with a rubber glove; then, after it dries, you can clean it up with minimal effort.  RTV Silicone is your friend.  Cheers!
