stainless steel exhaust

Hi all!
Wanted to know your advice on painting my stainless steel exhaust...

It was pretty rusted (deep) so i decided to buff it...it looks a little phony now...

Is there a way to paint it?

Any paint or process you suggest?

Stainless steel does not rust.  I suspect it is not stainless steel, but rather just regular steel.

As to painting your exhaust, hi-temp paint is made, which will work for this purpose.  Visit your local auto supply store, and inquire within.  Cheers!
