1980 Cb 750 C
So I went to start my bike and had the dreaded click sound
I pulled starter out and ran 12v to it and it spun fine
Replaced starter solenoid/relay and that worked, but when it turns over it sounds horrible and weak
Could my starter clutch be bad and how do I tell

Starter clutch going bad would make a terrible clanking/bangging sound. You might want to check your ground wire from the battery to the frame.

Ground wire is solid, if I take the starting gear off and help the starter spin it seems to work but as soon as I hook it all back up it won’t engage, think the starter is shot
