storage procedure

slash360
Hi to all. I have an 81 cb750 custom, I've owned this bike for 10+ years, rescued  from a garage after sitting 15 years or so. It had 9000 mi. on it and was a great project.I rebuilt carbs, brake calipers, sealed tank, changed forks and seals, tires, new 4 to 4 stock exhaust (thanks e-bay).Any way bike has been great,I love it,very dependable and fun to ride.My question,I have to leave the country for a year. How do I store bike so when I get back I don't have all these issues again. Thanks Steve in NC.

Well I would park the bike on wood and not a bare concrete floor, that should help the tires. Pull the battery as it will not make it unless kept on a charger and maybe not even then depending on age.
You can either drain the gas and fog the tank good with wd-40 or put in some stabil and fill to the rim with gas. If there is ethanol in the gas, I would drain and fog. I would also fog the inside of the pipes and wipe a thin layer of oil on the outside to protect the chrome.

The fork seals should be fine.
I would put a cover on the bike with some sacks of desiccant(absorbs water) that has a vent on top.
A fresh change of oil too, this removes acids and other crap from your engine.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
