suspension questions

my 78 750 does this up & down bumpy thing that's annoyin the hell outta me.feels down rite uncomfortable in a turn.I put in new fork seals & added 1 1/2 oz. extra ATF at the advice on my mechanic but no change.seems to do it mostly around 40 mph.any solutions?

Go faster. 

You might try 15 wt fork oil, or progressive springs.

Have you checked the tire to make sure it is actually round? Not joking, I have sen tires with a slight ovalish shape and it will cause that up/down motion. Normally at all speeds I assume but it may be more pronounced at certain speeds. Worth checking into since it is a free thing to check.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Maybe a dumb question but is it a spoked wheel?  Been riding a friend's '76 550 and I think her front wheel is out of true.  It gives the sorta bumpy ride you're talking about.  Pretty minor though.
