Lacing Wheels

Is it possible to use a stock front rim hub and spokes from a 77/78 Cb750 and lace it to a 75-77 GL1000 front rim? They both run 40 spokes, the only difference is that the CB rim is 1.85" x 19" and the GL rim is 3.5" x 19. I want to run really big tires I was wondering if this could be done to cut down cost. I found a set of spokes on www.vintagecb750.com for only $30!
