Will bad ignitors cause charging problems?

I found both ignitors melted on a 1980 750F. The bike starts and runs fine but I can't find the fault of the non charging system. So far I put in a new rotor, new stator, new battery, new brushes so I'm at a loss and grasping at strws..let me know if these ignitors can be the source of the dreaded trouble....Thanks
