Turning is going to feel a lot heavier. These bikes aren't exactly corner carvers compared to todays bikes, but a fatter tire like that will slow it even more. Although the gyro effect will be stronger. You will also have more unsprung weight which can affect your handling over bumps. You may need to put shims between the caps and springs in the forks to accommodate. A set of progressive springs would work well too but that would be about $100.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
