I have had some people say" how can you take a nice set of chrome pipes and paint them" I tell them with good sand paper !!!!!!!!!!!! I do have to repaint at the beginning of each year. The paint is perfect during the riding season but when sits in garage all winter starts to flake. It cost $20.00 for some heat paint
Rust-Oleum ultra-this is the only heat paint that comes in a simi-gloss finish-most stove paints are flat black. I sand blasted the pipes this time instead of sand papering the pipes, I am hoping to gain a year
and not having to paint but every other year. The fenders were chrome and have lasted 3 years and still look great. Hot Coat, ceramic coat, I have heard people still have problems with their coating flaking of after a couple of years and. I hate to pay that kind of price to have it flake off. The weird part is the paint never flakes were the most heat is generated at the pipes were they come out of the engine. The sand blasting looks to have really done a good job at etching the chrome so that the paint can adhere better
to the pipes. I will let you know by next winter how they did. !!!!!!!!!

Thanks for comment.
