To paint the chrome sand with medium grade and make pipes look like dull silver or gray. Buy rust-oleum
HIGH HEAT SATIN which I used, or flat black, temperture rating 1200 degrees with picure of barbque grill on front of can. After sanding wipe with alcohol " Do not Drink" paint when at least 70 degrees out, put on thin
coats of paint do not hurry, wait and hour in between coats do 3 or 4  "THIN" coats The pipes will not look like rattle can paint job if you take your time. I waited couple of days before putting back on bike. Wrap your pipes with plastic trash bags or something to protect from scratching paint. I ran the bike for about 15 minutes, then let cool. Ride 20 minutes let cool, this helps to cure paint. Now this method worked for me . The paint does start to flake after a year and might be able to touch up by leaving on bike, but I am
kind of anul and like to redo every year. I mentioned in a earlier reply that I have sand blasted the pipes this year and hope the paint last mabey 2 or 3 years. Remember chrome is hard to paint, but oter methods can be expensive and you may still have to redo paint. The method I used on fenders was a little different
and they look great after 3 years., but paint is not exposed to constant heat. I have sent pictures of exhaust before and, after paint.
