A rebuild kit is a good idea but what usually happens is that there are 2 holes inside the master, the small one gets blocked up and pressure cant be released. Take a small wire and poke into the hole and that will remove the blockage but it is temporary till you can dis-assemble the master to clean it. You may or may not need a kit. Mine was pretty bad but I cheaped it and did not get a kit as I was broke, that was like 6 years ago and it still does not leak. So disassemble and clean and see what happens or if your piston in the master is really bad, get the kit.
