I guess I'm in the same boat. Sold the old bike, and got this one.
Talk about different: water cooled, shaft drive, hydraulic clutch, 6 speeds, V-twin, upright style. Other than that, they're like brothers.
The fun part was getting it running. Jelly in the carb bowls, clutch needed to be bled, tank lining was flaking off, and other little stuff that every bike needs.
