I guess i'll cut it! What's the best way? Draw a line with a marker, drill a bunch of holes on that line, cut the small remaining metal with the dremmel and smooth it out with a grinder??

Pretty much. What you do is get a second fender and then cut one of them and keep the other just in case.
Another option would be to get a fork brace and a fiberglass fender.
Sometimes, you might find old parts floating around. You could also run without the fender and just have a brace. Not the best in rain though
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
