The tach cables are never super tight. AS long as you have a good tach cable seal, they dont need to be tight.
If you got leaking there, just get a new seal, use a hooked pick to get the old one out. Slip the new one in with your finger and seat it with the end of the tach cable. Put in the screw and you are ok.
